By taking care of the rave wear you already have! So let’s learn some tips and tricks on how to take care of your rave clothes- Because raving sustainably, is slaying sustainably! ✨ 💃
We’re gonna break it down into sections because different materials need to be taken care of in different ways:
Spandex

- Wash spandex in cold water to keep its shape
- Extra: Use a mesh laundry bag for more protection! ❤️
- Air-drying is best for spandex, but if you’re in a rush, machine-drying on low heat is the way to go
Rhinestones

- Wash your garments inside out to protect the gems
- Machine-wash with cold water, hot water can melt 🔥 the gem glue
- DONT: Use stain remover, it can melt the gem glue
- Hand-wash stains with warm water and detergent
- Air-drying, is best for rhinestone/gem protection
- Machine-drying on low heat is possible, just keep the garment inside out
Polyester
- Read the label!! That’s the most important thing when washing polyester
- Machine-wash with mild detergent and cold/warm water
- You can use the dryer- just not on a super high heat to avoid shrinkage/loss of shape
Leather
Real leather
- Spot test! Test your products on a small spot to make sure it won’t damage your leather
- Spot-clean minor stains with a cloth (microfiber is best ✨)
- Hand-wash real leather in a mixture of leather soap and cold water
- Rinse out all excess soap to avoid leaving a film, and air-dry
- Once dry, apply a leather conditioner to avoid cracking
Faux leather

- Machine or hand-wash in cold water with a gentle detergent
- If using a machine, wash on cold and gentle cycle
- Extra: Use a mesh laundry bag for more protection
- Air-dry and apply a leather conditioner once finished
