One of the many notable and picturesque aspects of the rave and festival scene is the attire worn by the ravers. We can imagine you have an understanding of the numerous styles and funky fashion options and fits there are. It’s not uncommon to find a wide range of modest to flashy pieces when raving, and there are so many reasons why that is! Almost everyone in this community is so supportive of what you wear, what you embrace, and the confidence you radiate, on and off the dance floor. But not everyone who first steps into the rave and festival scene might not break through with the same level of confidence, and the people who have it, may have taken journeys to get there. Body positivity and image are so vital to fully embracing one of the best parts of the scene, and it’s what you wear to get into the groove.
Rave fashion slays, it really does. And the people who wear it, slay even more. Designers and brands make outfits and pieces to work around features. From mesh, to cut outs, to flattering body suits and one pieces, swimwear, and oversized grunge, there is something comfortable for everyone. Here at Raveival, we are no exception, we sell so many different pieces that show off what makes you confident. I was talking to a couple of friends and community groups who talked about how their community invited and allowed them to breakthrough with sexy pieces judgement free, therefore, becoming more comfortable in their own skin. I personally have become so much more confident wearing more flashy pieces and the people who create and wear them as well have been so wonderful and supportive of me embracing them as well.
One question you might have for yourself is, what if there are beauty standards? What even do I wear? I honestly think there is a line of inevitability when it comes to beauty standards, and of course, that applies to so many different realms of the fashion world, but we like to think the rave scene has the lowest standards. And what about what works for you? Work around your features! Show the parts of your body you love and want to embrace. Wear your favorite colors and styles of clothing. Do you want more flow or more figure? What shoes make you feel sexy that won’t give you blisters? Do you like mixing and matching? Do you want to make your life easier with a set? In the end, it comes down to your choices. But don’t be afraid to explore, even if you feel neutral about where you stand in terms of body acceptance and what makes you feel good. Because everyone can be so supportive, and the hype the community shares is so wonderful!
With all that being said, don’t be afraid to embrace and embody parts of you that you wouldn’t without this community. Body neutrality and where we land mentally in that area of our lives is so vital to our well-being, and wearing what you want, whether that be oversized wide-leg cargos or form-fitting mesh, there is no judgment, very few standards, and a whole lot of acceptance, style, and love to go around. Keep on shining, you deserve it, babe.

I would love to wear what I want & embody the hopeful message of this post. Will Raveival be doing anything to carry more size inclusive clothing soon?
